01 — context
The challenge
GDG on Campus USTP needed more than a landing page. The chapter needed a reliable digital hub that could support recruitment, member engagement, and internal operations without relying on multiple disconnected tools.
The goal was to design and engineer a single platform from scratch that could scale with the community and still feel fun and student-friendly.
we needed to
- — Build an internal CMS to manage pages, events, and announcements quickly
- — Create interactive experiences that keep students engaged beyond static content
- — Support growth in membership and core team applications through clearer funnels
- — Ship internal utilities to improve campaign and event operations
02 — strategy
Web strategy
The web strategy focused on combining growth, engagement, and operations into one cohesive system instead of building isolated features. Every module was designed to reduce manual work while increasing student participation.
01
Platform Architecture
Designed the site as a modular platform with public-facing pages and internal tooling so chapter officers could update content and campaigns without touching code.
02
Growth Funnel Design
Streamlined event discovery, calls to action, and application flows so students could quickly move from visitor to member or core team applicant.
03
Engagement Layer
Integrated AI capabilities through MBTI-styled games to create a playful entry point that increased time on site and encouraged social sharing among students.
04
Operations Tooling
Built a custom link shortener from scratch for campaign tracking and cleaner sharing across posters, social posts, and event decks.
03 — execution

- Interactive personality-style game flows tailored for student audiences
- Lightweight AI capability integration for dynamic responses
- Engagement-first UX that supports both fun and community discovery
Custom Link Shortener
A built-from-scratch shortlink service was included in the stack to support internal campaigns and trackable distribution.
- Human-readable links for events, applications, and forms
- Cleaner offline-to-online transitions through QR and short URL usage
